I have to say my brother-in-law has all the luck.  He went from working for a Arena football team to getting a job with the Tampa Bay Bucs when Chucky signed on.  He was there when the Bucs won the Superbowl and has a Superbowl Ring to show for it.  When the Bucs played the All-Stars he went to Japan with them, and now this.  President Bush attended a fundraiser across the street from where the Bucs practice and guess who got to shake his hand?  That's right, my brother-in-law!!!  I am SO jealous!!  So here's his story and the pic.

"Back on Sept 21st President Bush came to Tampa for a fundraiser lunch for someone here at Raymond James Stadium. Our facility is just across the street (as you see in the back ground of the attached picture).

I am just about as far from a political person as you can be, but when I heard the news that the President was going to visit I was excited about the opportunity to meet what many refer to as the leader of the free world, and like him or not there have only been 43 people in the history of our country to hold the position he does, and who have to deal with the issues he does.

They tried to keep it a secret that he was coming, but the person who really let the cat out of the bag was Coach Gruden in the morning meeting. I wasn't at the meeting, but our kicker came in the equipment room and asked who I thought Coach Gruden was talking about when he told the team "we are going to have a very special visitor this afternoon". I put 2 and 2 together after remembering the news reports about the visit to RJS and possible traffic tie-ups for him.

Once practice was over, they called everyone up and told us to just hang out on the field for a few minutes while we waited for the visitor. The next thing we saw were two men dressed in all black on the roof of our building. Everyone new they were snipers and joked about not making any sudden moves.

A few minutes later the motorcade arrived and President Bush joined everyone on the practice field. Coach Gruden asked him to say a few words, and (no disrespect intended) you could tell he didn't have anything prepared. He just thanked the players for doing the things they do in the community and told them to keep working hard, that "I've been 0-2 before". It really seemed he was as excited as most of us were to be there. At this point he took the time to personally greet all the players, asking questions about where they were from and where they went to school. I was very impressed that he took as much time as he did with each individual, and while I was hoping to get a picture with him, I was happy enough to shake his hand and introduce myself.

I stood and watched for a few more minutes, but then people started heading in, so I thought he'd be leaving soon, and headed inside myself. As we walked off the field, I commented to Chris Simms that he should have had the President sign the football he had, but Chris said he thought it was cool enough to have played catch with him for a few minutes.

When we got inside, he flipped me the football and said there it is...George Bush actually played catch with that football. I went inside and told our seamstress (Linda) the same thing. Her reply was "WHAT??? George Bush is HERE???" I said yeah, you didn't know? Let's go out back real quick. I bet you can at least see him before he takes off.

So back out we went. At this point it was mostly employees still out there with him, and we just stood behind the endzone of the field they were on. I told Linda to come forward a few steps so she could see the snipers on the roof. As we did that, the group started making it's way toward the motorcade. We were a good 20 yards away when the President stopped, turned toward us, and motioned with his finger and said "come here" to Linda. This freaked her out of course as she said "Who? Me??" and I said yeah, get over there. Well, he gave her a big hug and asked what she did, and they talked about that for a minute before taking photos with her.

She went from not knowing he was there to getting a hug, chatting with him and taking pictures in about 3 minute span.

At that point people (including me) realized this was their last chance, so he must have taken 5-6 more photos and signed 5-6 autographs before I stuck my head in and asked if we could take a picture. As I said he was extremely accommodating to everyone. I think every single person who works there had some type of exchange with him if they wanted to. To my surprise, his visit lasted nearly an hour. Of course, there were some who let politics get in the way and told others...I don't want to meet him, etc. Their loss in my opinion.

It was an interesting experience to see everything from the helicopters flying around his motorcade, to the snipers on the roof, and of course the secret service who were all over the place (including one in the picture behind us to the left - that is Doug Williams behind us to the right). I don't know many people who have had the opportunity to meet the President in their lives (much less in such an informal setting), so I was glad I got the chance."

I first want to offer my condolences to these two families that lost their loved ones due to the acts of savage illegal immigrants.  Twice this week  Florida has lost two great officers from being run down by illegal immigrants that fled the scene instead of owned up  to their responsibility of committing a crime.  And to top it all off and sent me into this rage was this story that also aired yesterday of a van full of illegals pulled over for driving recklessly 20 miles over the speed limit!!  Had that cop not pulled the van over there very well could of been a wreck with loss of innocent victims lives due to criminal behavior.  That is exactly what this is, criminals crossing the border and continuing to lead their lives the only way they know, being criminals!!  Because of these three news stories, I will be spending my weekend researching and composing a nasty letter to all of my Florida representatives on the issue of illegal immigration and the lack of anything being done about it.  How many more innocent American lives have to be loss to these savage criminals until we start holding our elected officials responsible for the deaths?  I'm standing up right now and saying enough is enough!!!

This really pissed me off!!  There was a pro- Hizballah rally in Boston but apparently other Americans especially if that American is Jewish is not allowed to be there, take pictures or video without being ruffed up and life threatened!  Read the article and click on the video and listen to and watch these savages that don't deserve to be on our soil.  They, the muslims, have the right to freedom of hate speech but  an American Jew doesn't have the same freedom rights.  These muslims also kept on showing concern of being profiled but if they aren't doing anything wrong then why should that be a concern?  I truly hope that the government is paying attention to the people in these rallies because they are definitely showing characteristics of home grown terrorists.  Another bad point to this story is that it was covered in the press as something totally different than what it actually was.  Go figure, huh.

I also touched on this in a previous post but have just now found pictures that Reuters didn't publish.

This is bad when a small city makes the paper from a very big city.  I have already touched on the subject of the NYT in a previous post.

Current Mood: disappointed disappointed

Both of these articles I found on Little Green Footballs.   To have this many angry muslims on American soil is quite frightening, then there's this next one that only proves that there are Hizballah on American soil already which only makes the threat that was made to America a little more real.

With all the hype about the Arline Specter bill I found this incredibly interesting.

This is where my oldest takes gymnastics, thank god she does not compete, or I might have seriously hurt someone.  To hear of this from the six o'clock news, and not anyone from the gymnastics, highly pissed me off !!    We were there today and seeing the news truck I asked the girls at the front desk what it was about and I was told "I don't know". These were coaches who train only boys that compete but they also coached regular classes for the girls, lucky for me my daughter wasn't in their classes either.  Both these coaches were very friendly guys and were very popular among the kids so much so that there was a waiting list to get into their class.  What is not clear is if the second child happened at the same time or after the fact of the first.  I also wonder if charges will be brought up against the owners because they knew and hid it.  I'm sure there will be some lawsuits that might cause the place to shut down but surely will raise my monthly fee.  :O(

Besides the fact that Fords are crap, I have just found a more legit reason to never waste my money.

Australia is sending a message loud and clear on their views terrorism and the religion that creates it.  Good for them, we should take notes and follow.

Current Mood: hopeful hopeful

This article has me in a bit of an uproar.  This could be two things and I hope it's the latter; one is this guy was testing the waters to see what he could get by with and what he would have to change to get by,example being what if he answered yes to the laptop question OR this was the government testing our airport security.

I also found this on my little green footballs site, it's a really good read and nice to know that there are some Brits that have common sense.

Current Mood: relieved relieved

This is absolutely hilarious to the point of just plain fanatical.  My hubby sent me to this site.  I think I'm going to do regular post from here just to spread the chuckles.

Current Mood: giggly giggly

American gays think they have it bad here, this is a prime example of the grass isn't always greener on the other side.  These people truly know what a gay hate crime is and prefer to die rather than pay for their life style.  Although I wonder why didn't this prince stay  "in the closet" and secretly divert money to help his fellow gay AIDs victims, he actually would have been more helpful that way.  Now he has screwed himself and his "new family" all in the name of wanting to be recognized.  It just doesn't make sense to me.

Current Mood: pessimistic pessimistic

Holy shit batman, and I though Sharon was a hard-ass.  I don't mean to be pessimistic but there is no way this Israeli soldier is still alive.  I mean after all they have already killed the civilian, they are too afraid to say he's dead because Israel would flatten that entire city and kill what Palestinian leaders they have hostage.   I'm totally behind Israel, they have taking too much crap from Palestine and have gone down this failed road of diplomacy way to long.  I think Sharon would be proud of his successor.

Not to my surprise Lieberman's own party is shunning him for the rich guy so that the dems don't have to work hard raising money for the 2008 Presidential election, lazy bastards.  I have to say of all the dems I actually don't despise Lieberman and I would love to see him run as an Independent and at least beat out the dem candidate just to "Nah Nah" their being assholes.  Although I still don't think I'm ready to even vote for a Dem/Independent over a Republican, it would be interesting to see an Independent in office that wouldn't have to toe a party line on the issues at hand.   I'm also wondering if this rich guy Ned Lamont is also going to step on some toes and push Hillary and Kerry to the side as well.  All in all, the bitch fighting among the democrats during the primaries should prove entertaining at the least.

On the republican side I've only heard that McCain is running, I hope their are some better alternatives.  To me he seems to be leaning a little too far left for my likings and god knows we don't need a president that the dems can push around and bully.

With a city population of 205,648 and a county population of 896,344, Orlando is ahead of a one murder a week quota.   And this is just homicide, not drive by shootings, robbery's and other violent offenses that don't lead to death. Granted I live in a even smaller city outside of Orlando, with much less crime.  I was born and raised in Orlando, and I remember the days when I was a petite naive teenager who use to rome the streets without any harm that I didn't do to myself.  Those days are long gone and I attribute some of it to city officials and media hindering the police from doing their jobs.  The majority of it is people just not raising their children for a variety of reasons, that mainly boils down to parental selfishness and lack of parental responsibility.   What a shame.

Current Mood: cynical cynical

This woman has serious issues, I think a big part of it is the spoiled brat mentality that most models get once they come into fame and a lot of money.  I personally would like to see her get jail time or deported and have her visa taken away from not just the U.S. but other country's as well.  See if the loss of revenue would humble her any.

Here's a prime example of why computers can not replace people in all jobs.  I can't believe someone actually called to complain that this guy was feeding squirrels anyways, who cares!!  I can understand feeding an alligator or bear, something that can attack and kill a person, but a squirrel??  I'm seeing a possible plot for a new movie, "Attack of the KILLER SQUIRRELS".  Hey, they did it with spiders, rabbits and bee's, why not squirrels?

Putting all jokes aside when I was a kid, friends and I were chasing a squirrel, back in those days we use to run around without shoes on.  Well, we cornered the squirrel against the garage and one of my very mean friends pushed me towards the squirrel.  He got scared and bit me right on my big toe, took a nice hunk out of the tip of it.  Of course, my mother freaked and yelled at me for not wearing shoes and messing with a squirrel.  I had to go to the doctor but I can't remember if I had to get a rabie shot or not.
